Palais Coburg is right in the middle of the historic Viennese city center, and inside it feels like stepping into a totally different era. No wonder why so many couples come here for their wedding. If you want glamorous, there are other choices but few better choices.
Working here is a bit of a departure from my usual style. Because my favorite locations tend to be the clean and minimal, forgotten courtyards or forest hollows, being in the midst of such splendor as Coburg forces me to reconsider how I contrast the subjects against the background. The background is not clean, is not minimal, is not sterile. So with this wedding shoot I took a few chances, tried out some different angles, and used the palace’s details to frame the couple and their families.
