Miriam and Ingo are the sorts of cool people who think a horse racing track is a great place for a wedding in Vienna.
Even though the Trabrennbann Freudenau is within Vienna city limits, I had never been there — much less photographed a wedding there. Stepping foot into the racecourse for the first time, I looked around and in the very first minutes saw so many potential backgrounds and motifs.
We dived right into to it, and the couple was perfect: they were naturals in front of the camera and completely unabashed. For example: when Ingo wanted to take a smoke break I kept shooting right through and came away with a shot that looks straight out of the movies.
When they combined with the vintage dress of their wedding party I knew we had something special going on and I’m very happy to have been a part of it.
